Donate Clothes With Your Laundry Pickup: How the Monthly Donation Bag Works

A small bag, once a month

Tama Laundry customers can now add a small bag of gently used clothing to a pickup. We wash it, collect it with everyone else's, and donate it every month to a local Oʻahu shelter or community organization. It's free, and it rides along with laundry you were already sending.

How to add your donation bag

1. Pack a shopping-bag's worth of clean, wearable clothing — a few items, not a closet.
2. Label it "Donation" and keep it separate from your laundry bag.
3. When you book your pickup, tick Add a clothing donation bag and confirm the rules.

Your driver collects it with your laundry. We wash it with care and set it aside for the month's donation run. The donation bag isn't returned to you.

What we can donate

• Clothing only, in good, wearable condition.
• No stains, rips, tears, missing buttons or heavily worn pieces.
• No shoes, linens, bedding, toys or household items.

Why the rules matter

Shelters and community groups need clothes people can wear the day they receive them. A stained or torn item takes their volunteers' time to sort and then goes in the trash anyway. So anything that isn't donation-ready is discarded, not donated or returned. This is not a dump run — think "a few things I'd give a friend."

How often

One donation bag per customer per month. If you've already added one this month, booking will let you know, and you can add another next month.
